Hi, we have been using Monarch Datawatch 14 for years now and when we upgraded to the latest version, it did not do what 14 did but the damage was done when we uninstalled it. we still have the valid purchased key but cannot activate it because the internetactivation website no longer exists. is there anyway to activate so we can continue using it?

Short answer…No. The activation servers that we used to use have been deactivated so you will no longer be able to use that license.

What functionality are you missing from v14? The current release of Monarch Complete (Data Prep Studio and Classic) has narrowed the differences between Classic and Data Prep Studio that most people would not be able to detail what they can no longer do in Classic that they cannot do in Data Prep.

in the old version, once I finished converting the pdf, i would hit a button "Open As Table in Data Prep Studion" to export it to Excel. the current version has no such button.

The functionality was removed due to a security vulnerability. I forget what version it was removed in. The workaround would be to open your model in Data Prep Studio rather than Monarch Classic since DPS can read project and model files.

You will need to open Data Prep Studio first.

Click on "Open Data", and then select "Monarch File" from the wizard:

Select Monarch Model or Monarch Project and then "Get Data". This will open a dialog box where you can browse to the model or project file. If you are only opening a model file, you will need to drag and drop your PDF file on top of the model file load plan or click the drop down arrow and select "Add report"

unfortuntaely that doesn't work as i am trying to apply the model to a pdf which changes weekly. i begin by opening the pdf and choose the appropriate engine version and hit accept. this takes me to the report desing. this is where i would apply my saved model but i don't see a way to do that, my only option is to accept or cancel. at this point i cannot continue because nothing is defined for prep studio. the only other option i can think of is opening the pdf in 2024 classic Monarch then applying my model and save the project then open the projuect in date prep studio

below is where i would apply the dmod, but there is no way that i can find to do this.

    Hello @BladeTurbo ,

It sounds like you may be able to benefit from a Complimentary Monarch On-boarding Session. We can take time during that session to screen share and demonstrate in how you would open your PDF documents and apply the Model to be utilized to capture the data. You may schedule time from our calendar from the link above.

You can also reach out to our Technical Support Team and they will happily provide you with guidance in how to accomplish what you are seeking either by Opening a Support ticket from the Support Portal or email them at dasupport@altair.com

You need to open the model file first. Once the model file is open, you should be able to add your report (not open) to that model which should bypass the pdf document options.
