How to use Edem-Fluent coupling and built-in Fluent-DDPM at the same time?

Hello everyone!

I'm working on a simulation that involves coupling EDEM and Fluent, and I have a question regarding the setup. Is it possible to create a new DDPM phase along with its corresponding injections while using EDEM for particle calculations? Essentially, I'm wondering if it's feasible to have one particle phase handled by EDEM and another by Fluent's DDPM simultaneously. If so, could anyone provide some guidance on how to set this up.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi,

Just to confirm you would like the particle phase to be modelled by EDEM for one material type and for a different material type we would have the particle phase only in Fluent?

I am not sure myself if this is feasible, it maybe configurable in Fluent but from the EDEM side when coupling all the particle information is passed through the coupling interface, so either way all the particle information will be available.

    Dear Stephen,

Hi, thank you a lot for your comment. Yes, I want to simultaneously model a DEM phase using EDEM, along with a DDPM phase using Fluent. During setup, I configured both phases in Fluent, but the DDPM particles do not appear to be injected into the system. Could you kindly advise on potential configuration steps or adjustments to resolve this issue?

Hi, I attempt to figure out the reason why the injection is invalid. From the console, it seems that the DDPM particles have injected into the system, however, total mass of DDPM particles is 0.
