Is this the entire optimization process for the assembly?

I'm a newcomer to optimization. I am not clear about the process of using Hypermesh&optistruct to optimize the entire assembly. After half a month of study, I figured out the whole thing a little bit. Here's how I sorted it out:
1.import CAD model and set properties
2.mesh model and divide design domain and non-design domain
3.create group/contact in design space between two adjacent parts
4.create BC and loads
5.create load step, generally static step, put step 4 in it
6.create design variables , responses , constraints and objective.
7.solve
Is that enough for the most simplified model? Or I still miss some steps? Please give me some suggestions. Thanks.

basically yes. additionally you might want to define manufacturuing constraints as well.
and after all, post process, and in some cases redesign your model based on the results achieved by the solver.
