Saving videos from EDEM simulations

Dear EDEM users,

If I have already done several simulations on EDEM, does somebody know an automatic way to access the simulations and save the videos? Without manually entering each simulation file and saving it…

Thanks a lot.

    Hi @Reem_Kh,

You can script the import of animation files and the subsequent export of a GIF/MP4 in HyperView using TCL commands.

You can view your completed commands in HyperGraph using the HWC window (View » HWC Console) and use the recorded steps to create your TCL script.

Scripts can then be imported into HyperView using the File » Load » Script

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

You can export images during run time, but not videos:

    https://help.altair.com/EDEM/topics/edem_simulator/export_images_during_run_time_t.htm

This is designed more for a continual visualisation of what is happening during the simulation as it doesn't include the attribute colouring, but you could then turn the exported images into a video.

    Regards
