Start Altair Inspire

Hello,
I have to install Altair Inspire for my university but it doesn t work. I talked to the Director Academic Markets but he doesn t know what the cause is. so he sent me to the tech support (which i don t have because i have the student licencs) and after that he sent me to the community for help.
My problem is, that Inspire fails to load [gui/win64/bin/hwfdmplugin.dll].
after that it closes itself without a error message.
I tryed many different ways to download the programm. The personal version and these two:
i deinstalled by hand and with the programm. I have over 300GB storage. I have a gaming laptop (Acer Nitro 5) with different CAD softwares and all of them are running. I have a licens and i can t overwrite it. I have installed it on different drives. I have installed it according to instructions and by myself. I can open Altair HyperView but if i try to open Inspire there it closes itself. I don t know what i can do more… can you help me? I m frustrated :/
kind regards,
Julian

Hi @JulianBck and @CurryDragon,
Based on previous posts, I see there are a few solutions available that may also work for you:
- Install as administrator
- Right click > run as administrator on the AxAltairInspire2024.1_win64.exe
- Change download location
- If you are trying to download this anywhere other than your C:/ drive, please use the default installation directory
- Remove special characters from user account name
- Update graphics driver
- For NVIDIA etc. graphics cards, please install the latest driver version.
- Change graphic card settings from "Optimize Graphics Performance" to "High Performance"
- An issue can arise on Windows laptops equipped with AMD or NVIDIA graphics cards when the application’s performance setting in the graphics card software is configured to "Optimize Graphics Performance."
- Please change the graphics setting for icad or MSEmbed to 'High Performance' in your graphics card's software settings.
- Ensure you do not have an onboard graphics card
- They are currently not supported.
- Corrupted executables on download
- Uninstall the software, delete the downloaded files, and redownload the executables
- Check the checksum values after download using md5 checksum (https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/kbs/details?targetId=kA07V000000LWYqSAO)
- Uninstall and remove older versions of Inspire
- Please try uninstalling older versions of Inspire and deleting the [.altair] folder from c drive> user > .altair
- Run the HWCleanup Tool
- Please run the HWCleanup Tool to reset HyperMesh Desktop preferences and repair interface graphics
(C:\Program Files\Altair\2024.1\hwdesktop\utility\HWCleanup\HyperworksWindowsCleanup.bat)
- Please run the HWCleanup Tool to reset HyperMesh Desktop preferences and repair interface graphics
- Add the JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS Environment Variable
- Your issue could be with Java and Windows 11 dlls.
- Create a system environment variable "JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS" with the Value: "-Dos.name=Windows 7"
Hope this helps!
