Does EDEM2024.1 no longer require setting dummy particles in the Tavares UFRJ Model?

Dear all,

I am trying to use EDEM2024.1's Tavares UFRJ Breakage Model to simulate the breakage behaviour of particles.Does the new version of EDEM no longer require setting up "dummy particles"? I have tried to do this way, but there has been no breakage phenomenon. Are there any UFRJ breakage cases available for reference now？

Hi,

That is correct, you no longer need the dummy particles, you do need to add a very small contact radius on the particles to capture the last contact point. I've attached the latest tutorial:
