HyperMesh 2024.1: Secondary Ribbon Menu / Context-Sensitive Toolbar not showing

I'm trying to perform topology optimization tasks with hypermesh 2024.1 and mechanical Solvers.
As I load the component and I try to separate the design region from the non design region with the split tool, by clicking on it, no Secondary Ribbon Menu / Context-Sensitive Toolbar is showing.
The same happens with all the tools after I'm clicking. The tool will simply highlight and nothing else will show.
So far I hadn't had any problem with it in the 2021 version, from which I was able to perform topology optimization.
The things I have installed are the following:
- hwDesktop2024.1_win64.exe
- hwSolvers2024.1_win64.exe
A screenshot of the problem is attatched.

Does someone know why, when I try to select a tool from the top Ribbon, the dropdown menus below it don’t appear as they do in many HyperMesh 2024.1 tutorials (https://youtu.be/3I9v0EW3cQY?si=xuLuSpLxooMzX7EE&t=435)?
In the area circled in red, a kind of dropdown menu is supposed to open, but it doesn’t appear.
(In this case, I’m trying to use the Split tool to separate the design geometry from the non-design geometry, but it doesn’t work with other tools either, like Move Component.)

  • Hello @AleCen ,

this looks like a graphic glitch.

There could be several reasons causing this.

First let me assume you are using a Windows 11 laptop, no remote connection. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

With this configuration, my #1 hint would be to check for your graphic settings. The article below lists the most frequent tips to solve such cases:

I would explore first the sections Supported Graphic Boards and Laptop Specific Recommendations in this article.

    Hope it helps,

    Michael
