How can we compute the generalized scattering matrix out of the spherical mode expansion (exported to the *.sph file) following the formulations in the book J. E. Hansen: Spherical Near-Field Antenna Measurements, 1988.
When using equivalent sources (like spherical mode data), it is not possible to request for S-parameters directly (as there are no ports defined). Instead, one can set the Tx antenna power to 1W (or any value for that matter) and get the received power on the Rx antenna.
Coupling (or S21) will now be 10*log (Rx power/Tx power) = 10*log (Rx power), as Tx power is set to 1 W.
SPH files can be used to define equivalent source for Tx and receive antenna for Rx.
