Hello

I am making a transient simulation of a current transformer, but I have convergence issues. Convergence issues occur when the magnetic material of the core is saturated, can you help me the to solve the convergence issues? I am attaching the flux model. Thanks in advance for the support.

    Hello Efrain,

This type of convergence issue occurs when the non-linear algorithm does not converge within the maximum number of iterations.

With the spline saturation data, when the H values exceed the values in the given table, then Flux tries to extrapolate and find the corresponding B value. With this extrapolation, sometimes the solution does not converge.

Including more points in the BH curve at saturation can help converge the solution.

As an initial solution, I suggest you try with material such as "Isotropic analytic saturation + knee adjustment (arctg, 2 coef.)". Here the values are extracted from the data in "Isotropic spline saturation".

Other solution is to try different solver options and get the solver which converges.

    Thank you,
