Mesh of a crack area in Hypermesh
I am learning Hypermesh right now. I have got a project, in which I need to import a CAD model in Hypermesh to mesh the component with FEM. In this component I have got a crack area. If I try to mesh this area with a 2D-Mesh and I import it in Abaqus it doesn't work. Which section do I have to select for the crack area so that I can import the model in Abaqus?

thank you for the answer! I will try to explain it better. In the model I meshed the crack area with a 2D Automesh (R-Trias). Somebody told me that I had to make a section and material for the whole component that I can import it in Abaqus. That is why I made a Shellsection for the Crack and for the whole component too. Now I used the export SolverDeck function to import the model in Abaqus. When I import it in Abaqus I can't even see the geometry and I don't know why.
When I delete the 2D Mesh on the crack area and than I import it in Abaqus again it works and I can see everything. But I need the 2D Mesh. Hope you can understand the problem and thanks in advance.

Sorry, I didn't find the exact reason. Please check the component name or check the message area when importing the InP file.
It would be better if you could provide model files.

You can delete the sets you have created in hypermesh model. Export the input file. You can import it in Abaqus CAE. It worked for me. I wanted to share the .inp file but like you said the file in too big to add.

I've found the problem.
The part name or set name in abaqus cannot start with a number.
Please rename the components according to the rules in the first picture.

Hello, I have got an other question regarding to this model. I changed the mesh a little bit and included some partitions in the model. Now I wanted to define load and boundary conditions. I found the button analysis -> pressures and there I could define a pressure on a face of my model. The problem is that I could not change the direction of the power arrow. Do you know how to change the direction? And how can I include boundary conditions? Is it at the button collectors -> create -> load collector -> boundary?

For the solid element, the pressure can only act on the surface of the solid element and point to the interior of the solid element. If you want to change the direction of load , please try using analysis - > forces.
In addition, if you use ABAQUS as the solver template, I suggest you use tools - > load step Broswer, which is more powerful and convenient.Have a good day.
