Hello,

I am trying to import a CAD model in motionview, the error I am getting says "Invalid file specified or the specified CAD/CAE type does not match the actual file type." I have selected a step file and the Import CAD or FE using Hypermesh tool where we have to specify the input file type is also selected as STEP. I don't know where I am going wrong.

A generic reflection after this error. I wanted to know after importing this model the goal is to insert two posts under each 2 wheeler wheel and conduct a bump analysis and see how your chassis is getting affected right ?

What if I want to conduct the dynamic analysis that we can do with the defualt templates        ( Like braking, turning, plank road etc) but now it will be with the CAD import. Is that even possible or will I have to go into making a custom Template for myself?

Regards

    Hello Draucis -

My guess is the file though the extension is step, its not in step format. Does it get imported in Hypermesh without involving Motionview ?

Once you verify this and if you think its an issue with MotionView, please put a support case with the file attached.

Regarding using the two wheeler templates on your own built model, I think it is possible. First you need to add the Altair Driver and then the events can be added.

You may follow this tutorial MV-8800
