Hey,

when connecting my Beam Section(created with Hyperbeam) to my 1d elements the shear center of my profil is aligned on the origin of my 1D Element.

Is there any option to choose an other axis of the profil to align on the element origin?

Thank you.

    Hi,

Can you try offsetting the pin locations (in bars panel).

Shear center runs from GA to GB. So changing or offsetting this may help you.

So this works in Optistruct User Profile but not in Abaqus User Profile because in the bars panel the option for changing the offset is missing.

    Any idea?

Offsets in Abaqus are defined on the property .  Please defined them on property which gets assigned to those elements .

Coming to HM, below image shows how to change offset for I-section. The I value can be changed for offset.

According to Abaqus manual, the beam offset is given by means of 'BEAM SECTION OFFSET' option, but I am not able to find it on Hypermesh.

Do you know where is it?

    Thanks.

    Hi Tinh,

This is valid for profiles such us Nastran or Optistruct, but not for Abaqus.

    Regards

How do you set beam offsets in abaqus?
