OSSMOOTH Export of Composite Topology
Hi Everyone,
I am struggling right now with something that I am certain I have done before, though it has been a while.
I have successfully completed a FreeSize and a Size Optimization where I now received a Shuffle.fem data file. (OUTPUT -> SZTOSH)
Now I would like to take the topology of this Composite Shuffle FEM deck and Export it. Of course, the Composite optimization is based on a few surfaces, but I Need to have the topology of the element thicknesses. It is going to be a rough landscape, but this is intended. Now, does anyone of you know how to Export my Composite FEM model INCLUDING ist optimized thicknesses?
I have not found the right function in OSSMOOTH. I have the Shuffle.fem file, that was generated in the last Size optimization. Moreover, of course a .sh data was generated, which does not seem to fit to the Shuffle.fem data. (Saying the .sh file has invalid element Count)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Lennart

HI @Turbokraken
Do you want to export the ply data and use it CAD or do you want to perform smoothing first and export?
If you are interested in smoothing, better carry the smoothing after freesize.
If you just want to export to the ply data, you can export to CATIA or FIbersim where all ply data will be exported.
You can try Ply Geometry smoothing which is available in Aerospace profile where you can export the ply shape as CAD data

What I am interested in is of course the shape of each ply, but most importantly the ply thickness. The thickness should be displayed as it is, not just as the 2D shape but as 3D shape, probably as .STL.
Is this possible?0 -
I have a script which can export ply shapes to step format. But thickness is not a part of it.
I will check i there is a way to do that.
But, you can export all ply data to CATIA or FiberSim formats through HyperMesh.
