Hi,
Is the plastic strains plots in hyperview is the %plastic strain or just a number.
If the maximum plastic strain is say 0.023, does it mean the plastic strain as 0.023%. if it is not how do I convert to percentage value?
Plastic Strains (s) is the only the strain in the plastic section of the stress-strain curve.Could you let us know the solver you are using?
Hi Kamalakar Rao,
Strain is a ratio of Change in length/original length. The same times 100 gives the percentage.
The result depends on your input. If your input is in %, the result output will be %
@Rahul R I am using Optistruct to analyse and i want (Total Strain,%, Max. Principal ) in my report. Cld yu please let me know what to call in case control section and how to do posting??
Thanks,
Nagaraja D
you can do pretty much anything in the legend options in HV.
You can multiply your solver result by a scale factor (100) and in the 'Edit Legend' you can change title, and much more of your legend.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
by the way, in OptiStruct you need to request STRAIN(H3D) under GLOBAL_OUTPUT_REQUEST.
And them you will see Strains in the result file. P1 Major would be the Maximum Principal Strains.
