Hello,

Part was meshed , material assigned and contacts set up.  A design change requested which changed the geometry slightly.  How to remesh new section with out remeshing entire part?

    Hi

I do not think you will be able to remesh only portion of the CAD part.

But you could remesh some of the elements, if it is applicable, to meet the new CAD part geometry.

    Or use hypermorph.

    I Hope this  is helpful

That why I do always some CAD splitting. When you have to update the mesh, you update only sub-part which is concerned.

    Thanks All,

I think the problem is that I do not have the original CAD/geometry that was used to create the mesh.

I only have the changed model, of which I did not want to re-edit clean up the geometry and remesh the entire part.   So the solution was :

    (1) delete area of old mesh.

    (2) Import new CAD/geometry ,

    (3) remesh that area and then used a ruled mesh to stitch the two meshes together.

    Done.
