Hypermesh - Changing model, remeshing, contacts and connections, best practices ?

I am using hypermesh (with Abaqus solver)  I have inp files of a previous revision.

The details of geometry change, requires remesh entire part.  Is there an efficient way to reconnect the contacts/ connections without redoing all of them?

I thought that perhaps I could remesh the part , and create the mesh inp file, and copy that into the previous inp and maintain the contacts/connections.

What is most efficient method in this situation ?

Thank you

    Hi

I would think that it depends on how the solver you are using refers to the entities for contact.

For instance, in Radioss, we can refer the group of surfaces or nodes the part.

So that if you remesh the part, add/remove elements, the reference will still be the part.

and the Solver with recognize it, therefore it would not need to update the groups.

    I hope this helps
