When nodes have been put on surface before mesh, the nodes do not cross the mesh

hi,

I'm new to HyperWorks and I noticed that when I put some nodes on a surface, the mesh does not cross them (see photo below). Eventually I see the results are not right because of this.

Can someone please help?

thank yo in advance.

You need to add fixed points to the surface.

You can do that by projecting the nodes as fixed points onto the surface.

    Hi Jason,

Does it means we need to project the node on to surface before meshing? When I had projected I can see point on the surface but without mesh lines passing through.

    Thank you

You can project before or after meshing. But you need a fixed point on the surface.

Before will create the mesh from scratch on the surface. After will remesh the surface once the fixed point has been imprinted.

    Hi,

In the model shown, the geometry is already meshed. However, as the required load points do not have nodes, I created the nodes above the surface, and they need to be projected.

The nodes are projected with the imprint option onto the surface. Even though the fixed points are created, the mesh was not recreated through the fixed points as shown. (I is an imprint and N is a node)

Can you suggest, if is this the procedure to be done? Or do we need to remesh after this process?

    Thank you.

    Hi Ananthan,

May be you can try "Associate" option(see the below image) where you can associate the nodes to surface. Please try this and evaluate your result. Sometime if the surface is very large, there might be visualization issue even if the node is on the surface.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Surface association for the nodes is not working in my case. However, I was able to use the imprint tool in the geometry tab as mentioned in the earlier post from 'Jason' to create points, and that was remeshing my geometry when I tried again.

Thank you all for your feedback
