End winding inductance or phase inductance in AFM models

Hi!

I have a question regarding the inductance value in the circuit of an axial flux machine(Flux or SimLab).

If I review electric motor training models(radial flux machines) the phase inductance value in the training model circuit comes from FluxMotor.

A closer look shows the phase inductance value of a RFM(PMSM) circuit is the end winding inductance value of the same model in FluxMotor.

How can I estimate an "end winding inductance" value for an AFM or how is the process in general?

Thank you very much.

    Hello Frank;

    End winding inductance are included in the circuit definition because of 2D computation, where only the active length inductance of the machine is considered.

    If you move to 3D, then you don't need to compute them, they are already considered in the finitie element computation. Axial flux machine are modeled in 3D.
