Hi everyone,

I want to use Fatigue simulation from MBD results for chassis.

Can you share the process from MBD results to OptiStruct Fatigue for a chassis of a truck? I am refer Truck 6x4 (N post events) exercise.

Thanks.

    Hi @Brian_20847,

In general, the procedure is as follows:

    1. Build and validate a MBD model of your vehicle using measured test data.
    2. Simulate either driven or shaker-post events that correspond to various load cases you are looking to use for your fatigue model.
    3. Extract time-series loads from each joint connection to use as inputs to your fatigue model.
    4. Post process the results to obtain a rainflow count of the loads (load magnitude vs. cycles).
    5. Simulate the loads and cycles in your fatigue model.
    6. Calculate life of the component or system.

    Hope this helps!
