Hello Everyone ,
Can I connect tria and tetra elements in the same way by which we connect hex and quad elements.(As described in Gokhale's book)?
Regards,
Bharat
can you put up an image of the connection between hex and quad etc to explain better?
you can extract faces tool > faces to create connected tria elements as a skin over the tetra elements.
tetra or hex/penta do not have rotation dof. so to constrain out-plane rotation dof of tria/quad, make a layer of tria/quad clamped by or pasted on tetra/hex
@tinh @Rahul -- Sorry for the late reply.
Yes I carried it out as you said and it worked.
Rahul - the method about which I was curious was the one where we insert one additional coat of elements in side solid elements.
Please find the image attached of the book.
Thanks and regards,

Yes, it is correct
use solid elems to clamp shell elems will constraint r-dof
or paste a layer of shell elems on solid face, same affect
