simple explanation about simsolid

The software Simsolid is amazing, but I can't understand how it works, which makes me confused. Both the "Altair SimSolid Whitepaper" available are very brief and abstract. 

What would be very helpful is if you would work out a particular simple example in detail, which basic functions are being generated, how displacements and stresses are generated from this, and what one adaptive step does.

Or could you offer an English version of the book “The Method of External Finite Element Approximation”？
