Not exactly on the keyboard, but some of the old keyboard shortcuts still work in similar ways to create or open bitmap files with the the graphics area. This can be handy if you are going to paste into graphics program anyway to crop and annotate Tested on v2021.1 on MS Windows. YMMV on other operating systems.
- Ctrl+F1 - creates a .bmp and opens in assigned image software such as MS Paint.
- Ctrl+F2 - does pretty much the same thing as Ctrl+F1
- Ctrl+F6 - Writes a .jpg of the graphics area to the working directory
The new Report functionality can be helpful for getting screen grabs in certain situations. If you have used the new Report menu you may agree it has a lot of issues and still appears to be very much a work in progress. If you create a simple report with just a capture it should write out the graphics area. A benefit of trying to use the Report tool is you get a lot of control over what is generated such as location of files, resolution, etc.
If you are open to a third party solution. I personally use Greenshot for this sort of thing. Greenshot is a free and open source screenshot software for MS Windows. It has pretty much any option you can think of.
