The cut entity comprises a face or an assembly of faces that cut across a closed magnetic circuit or a closed electric loop. This supplementary entity, which is superposed on the described geometry, is necessary to manage the coupling between different formulations in a case when there is a connectivity problem.

Magnetic and electric cuts are created automatically by Flux using the algorithm called mesh swelling (hidden behind the command of automatic creation of the cuts).
