Electrical Machines: Are results of a drawn segment equal to that of the full machine?

Hello,

I have designed a segment model of an electrical machine that I am investigating. I am calculating the joule losses within the sleeve and the results seem plausible. My question is, are the results I have calculated just of the segment or of the full machine it represents? I.e. Do the losses results of the regions include the periodicity/symmetry or will I have to multiply the results to get the full machine results?

Thank you in advance,

Dan

    Hello;

    If you linked the region sleeve to a circuit, and you compute the Joule losses on the circuit component, so the losses are give for the full device.

    If you compute the losses on the displayed region, so you have to multiply this one by the number of symmetries and periodicities to have the losses for the entire sleeve.

    The rule is that all the quantities you compute on the circuit component or mechanical sets, are given taking into account the periodicities & symmetries. All the quantities computed on the regions are given only for the displayed part.

    I hope this will help you.

    Thank you very much, I believe this has helped a lot. Would this method also apply to isovalues/isolines at all? Would values taken from Isovalues represent the full device or just the region they are applied to?

    Thank you again

    You are welcome !

    The isovalues/isolines are only displayed for the segment you are studying. It is possible to display the isovalues/isolines with the rebuld of full geometry feature available.

    Whe you are exporting spatial quantities, they are exported only on the displayed part, if you want to export for the full device, so you can use the new I/O context.

    Best regards
