An inductive coupling coil for a wireless power transfer (WPT) system is designed without requiring increase in dimensions such as area and thickness for implantable medical devices. Specifically, a compact receiving coil is located inside an implanted antenna to operate as a resonant coil with high Q-factor at the industrial scientific medical (ISM) band, 13.56MHz. Furthermore, the mutual effects between the WPT coil and the antenna are studied in terms of the implanted antenna's characteristic variation and the coil's WPT efficiency.
