Monarch & Monarch Server(Automator)


The Session began with a brief overview of Analyze Tab - Summaries in Monarch Complete v.2021 (Classic & DPS Mode) before diving into the LIVE Questions. 

The Session began with our Expert reviewing the following:

  • Session began with Steve providing answer from question asked during Feb. 8th Ask the Expert: How to capture the date from the file name and then use it in the output file name (Monarch Server/Automator)?   (review first 8 minutes of the session)

  • Analyze Tab - Summaries  (reviewed at approximately 10-mins after the session started for about 24 mins.) 
    • Reviewed creating a Summary within Classic Mode Interface
      • How one can Sort the results of the Summary using the Sort Tab
      • Then using the Matching Tab - showed the top 10 values and then the remainder values as "all others" so one is able to see the grand total at a faster glance and not need to scroll to the bottom of the results
      • When utilizing the Matching Tab one can set a 'threshold' by an amount such as greater than 100
      • Can also create a Sort to show a set of values from the Table so it only brings those specific value fields
      • In creating the Summary can select the specific value fields to be included within the Summary
      • CLASSIC MODE - allows for Coloring Options for the results {Not in DPS Mode at this time}
    • Reviewed creating a Summary within DPS Mode (approximately at 35 mins. time frame) 
      • DPS allows for a more flexibility to perform transformations such as sorting & grouping
      • the ROW is like the Key field in Classic Mode

LIVE Questions submitted:

Monarch: 
1.  Will DPS Mode Summaries have the same color options like Classic Mode?

  • Unknown at this time if it is on list for R&D/feature addition.  Though we know that Development is working to bring same capabilities executed in Classic Mode over into DPS Mode. 

Monarch Server: 
1.  How do you use the Summaries in Automator(Monarch Server)?

  • If your Model contains Summaries, on the Visual Process, you can use Summary Export Object.  If a Workspace with a Summary is uploaded to Monarch Server(Automator), then you may use the DataPrep Export Object Property; you can click on the Summary Export button and Select a Summary.
