Monarch & Monarch Server(Automator)


The Session began with a brief overview of Export Options (Classic & DPS Mode) in Monarch v.2021before diving into the LIVE Questions. 

The Session began with our Expert reviewing the following:

  • Export Options for both in Classic & DPS Mode  (reviewed first 21-minutes of the session Classic Export Options and then 22-33 mins reviewed DPS Export Options)
    • Exporting Options for Filters & Summaries

Monarch Server: 

1.  How to move a Workspace from Data Prep to Automator(Monarch Server) and change source file locations. How to add Named Paths. 

  • Mo demonstrated how to upload a Workspace into Monarch Server(Automator) from Monarch(DPS). Review System Preferences within Monarch Server(Automator) for 'Named Paths'   Answered at approximately at 35-mins into the session. See Additional Resources web link below for more information. 

2.  Are these exports, will be available to reuse in Automator(Monarch Server)?

  • If using Classic(Standard Process only will the Exports Works). Exports of the FILTERS are not available in Visual Processes.  If you create a standard process & use the Monarch Project File.  Answered at approximately at 30-mins into the session.


3.  Is there an enhancement request to replicate this functionality in Visual Processes?  Filtered Exports(even without summary) are useful to avoid duplication of the table. 

  • Filters can now be created in the Analyze Tab and can be applied to an Export without duplicating the Table.  It is believe this functionality will be included in Automator v.2021(v.17)


4.  Can you choose which columns to Export in Data Prep Export?  

  • Yes, you can choose which column of data you wish to Export.  This ability is now included in Monarch Server v.16/v.2020 and higher.
