Monarch & Monarch Server(Automator)

The Session began with a brief overview of Monarch Server v.2021 Validating Data before diving into the LIVE Questions.

The Session began with our Expert reviewing the following:

  • Session began with Mo providing an overview of how to verify the data to be processed with an example of utilizing shipping date/current date results.  {Covered within approximately the first 30-mins of the Session}
    • Using Element: Verify Workspace: one can use the RED LINE(Error) to be routed to a distribution to email and if the data does exist uses GRARY LINE to continue through the process in which case would use DataPrep Export
    • With the Verify Workspace: utilizing the verification options to create an exception and if the condition fails to then perform following action: Continue -> continue with verified only, Stop; Stop without error notifications.
  • Reviewed working with Classic Model (approximately at 30-45 mins of the session}
    • Ensure if utilizing External Lookups to make sure able to be seen in Monarch Server
    • Utilizing the Element: Verify Model
  • Ensure to include distribution if working with File Monitoring

LIVE Questions submitted:

Monarch Server:
1.  As part of a Automator process, it is possible to add a distribution that would provide the log via email of what files have been created and distributed?  I know that I can go into the process to manually extract the log, but thought it would be convenient to get an email to see like a checklist.?

  • This would require a script.:
    • Step 1: Would be to use the ”iterate through a list of inputs” to store the list of inputs in a variable.
    • Step 2: Would be to use that variable in an email distribution.

2.  What is the purpose of the green arrow in the Verify Workspace?

  • We have not been able to figure out what the green button does.  The team will inquire with Development/Project Teams. Answer to come soon after confirmation.
