Altair Monarch Data Extraction Made Easy

Altair makes data extraction from PDF, text, or legacy reports visual and straight-forward.
When first bringing in the Report/File into Monarch, it will launch into REPORT DESIGN. You are presented with a visual rendering of the Report which provides one the opportunity to determine the data to extract/capture. As one is selecting the Fields, a PREVIEW of the Extracted Data within a Table Format are displayed in the lower half of the Report Design Window while the visual rendering of the report is viewable in the upper half.
TRAP LINE: this is where one will set the Pattern to identify the line(s) for the Template they are creating.

TRAPPING TEMPLATE Types:
- DETAIL: 1 Detail = 1 Row of information within the Table. The Detail Template is the ONLY MANDATORY Template. All other Templates are defined in relation to the DETAIL Template.
- START REGION: Used to identify a line within a report where the 'trapping' should begin. Information above this Start Region will be ignored and not utilized when extracting data.
- END REGION: Used to identify a line within a report where the 'trapping' should end. Information below this End Region will be ignored and not be utilized when extracting data.
- EXCLUSION: Template used to OMIT all lines that matched by the template. Supersedes all other templates except the Page Header Template.

GROUP FOOTER: Template used to extract data BELOW the Detail Template.
- APPEND: Template used to extract data ABOVE the Detail Template.
- PAGE HEADER: Template used to capture information Above the Detail Template. Allows any Multi-Line Template to span more than one page.
- CLEARING TEMPLATE: Data that is captured from the Group Footer, Append, and the Page Header templates may appear only once in the report but can be repeated in the table if it is associated with more than one Detail record. These templates can be forced to apply to only ONE Detail record by setting a Clearing Template.
Notes:
- Detail, Page Header, Start Region, and End Region Templates are limited to ONE EACH per Report.
- There may be multiple Append, Group Footer, and Exclusion Templates per report.
