How can I make short circuit in 3-phases AC rotating machine?
In order to make a short circuit in AC rotating machine; you have to use the circuits shown on the pictures below.
Case 1: 2-phases short circuit.
In this example, the short circuit is done by closing the switch at t=0.2s of the steady state. The resistors are used to isolate the voltage sources, there values go from 0.00001 ohms to 10000 ohms at t=0.2s.
Case 2: 3-phases short circuit.
In this example, the short circuit is done by closing the switch at t=0.2s of the steady state. The resistors are used to isolate the voltage sources, there values go from 0.00001 ohms to 10000 ohms at t=0.2s.
Earth mode test:
The switches are used to make possible the earth model simulation. In the time interval [0s, 0.3s], the machine operates normally. At t=0.3s one causes the default. So, the switches are closed/ opened as following:
- [0s, 0.3s]:
- Switch_1 -> closed
- Switch_2 -> opened
- [0.3s, 1s]:
- Switch_1 -> opened
- Switch_2 -> closed
