How can I define laminated material in Flux?

Flux allows modelling two types of anisotropy: the crystalline anisotropy related to the manufacturing procedure; and the pseudo-anisotropy linked to lamination.

The pseudo-anisotropy is modelled in Flux by the homogenization of a package of stacked sheet metal.

Since Flux version 11.2, the lamination is modelled using:

  • a new type of region (Laminated magnetic non conducting region) to model the pseudo-anisotropy
  • a new material model to model the crystalline anisotropy in 2D
