Does the Flux software take advantage of the multi-cores processor system?

Yes, it does. Since Flux v.10.4.1 it is possible to benefit of multi-cores processor with Flux in order to perform parallel computing. This functionality is activated by default with default setting (number of cores used).

In order to modify the number of cores used by Flux, the user has to follow the next steps:

  • In the Flux Supervisor [Options] [System] [Multi-cores], select one of the following options: use only one core with Flux
  • use all cores with Flux
  • choose the number of cores used with Flux (by default half of the available cores are selected, for instance 4/8)
