This validation problem emphasizes S-LINE's efficiency and accuracy for continuous concrete beam design.
Design a reinforced concrete beam for flexure using S-LINE and see how to validate the results with hand calculations. This tutorial walks through the steps needed to model and design the beam:
- set the number of bays to one
- set pinned boundary conditions (support conditions) at each end
- change the geometry: beam length, cross-section shape, and size
- apply loading conditions
- configure member reinforcement layout
- run a design code assessment and view results
The steps needed to solve the problem by hand calculations are presented and results are shown to agree with S-LINE generated values.
