Difference PBAR and PBARL
Hey,
I was wondering which property card to choose. I read somewhere that PBAR-L (L stands for library).
So my understanding was, that I could specify the type or 1D Element (e.g. rod) in the PBARL card, give the dimensions and I would be ready to go.
Somehow you have to define a hyperbeam cross section nevertheless. Why?
Now whats then the difference to PBAR, where I have to only define the cross section?
Best regards,
Merula

When you work with ROD (under tension or compression only), for PBAR you need define the section area, but for PBARL you have to define the type of section (I,L,[],[,...) and dimensions. In the case of PBARL, the code will compute the section area for you.
When your section is not found in the library, you have no choice: you have to use PBAR.
