Optistruct slow

Hello,

I'm an engineering student and I'm using inspire for a project and i'm having some issues with the optistruct structure optimization which is quite slow, taking atleast an hour. I'm actually using a surface pro 7 with an intel i5 1035g4 and 8 Gbs of ram. I've actually set the mesh to 1 mm minimum and 5 mm medium dimension to help a little but it doesn't seem to help that much.

what options are you using when runnung the optimization?

Depending on your settings, it will affect the mesh size, thus affecting runtime.

Depending on your settings, if the mesh is too refined, then you will need more RAM memory to run faster, otherwise it will use the so called 'out-of-core' mode, using less RAM, but more hard drive, which can lead to slower runtime.

Considering that your OS is probalbly using at leat 2~3GB, you remain with around 5GB. If you get around 1M elements, probably it is already at the limit. (i'm guessing)
