How can I mesh my assembly model in such a way that when it gets exported into LS-DYNA, it will be a single mesh but with all its components split separately?

I.e. To achieve the picture below in a single mesh with separate parts

Instead of all the parts combined into one.

Thanks!

It's so simple. Just split your surface and make a new compo for each area.

Do you mind showing me how you would mesh such a projectile please? I have narrow down my problem to the poor mesh of my projectile.

This is my first experience using dedicated meshing software. I have problem meshing complex surfaces with curvature with quad elements and to keep the connectivity among all parts while separating them independently.

I tried using a variety of method but there are missing elements in those area I mentioned above. I have uploaded the step file if you do not mind trying it out. Thank you.
