Detailed solver process and multiple cores solving

Hello everyone!

   I am student and I have a personal project: print a 3D formula 1 piston with topologic optimisation. I would like to know 2 things

 

The first, is "how could i had a detailed solving?". When I launch optimisation solving, i just have the green progresse bar and it is not enough for me.

 

The second is "is set preference on "4 cores" is enough to make run Inspire solving on full processor load (i7 4720HQ)?" Because Inspire seems to used a little bit of my CPU, and i would like to earn time ^^' Maybe there is GPU accelaration also?

 

I saw there is "OptiStruct" that launch a little windows with many options, but i dont even know how to make Inspire work with that. Id never used commands to edit solving in StarCCM+, Catia or Matlab, so i am a beginner ^^'

1) you can RMB in your run and 'open run folder'.

in there, while your optimization is running, you could take a look at the .out file from OptiStruct run and check which iteration and so on.

 

2) not all the steps in solving are parallel, so don't expect your CPU to be fully used. GPU is avalilable but only for really high-end GPU's for processing. (not regular GPU cards)
