how to use gap element in transient analysis

Hello,

I'm a bit new to FEA, and i stucked while developing my model.

First, i created my model with spring elements in linear static. It was working great.

Second, i convert spring elements to the gap element, but it wasn't working properly in linear-static. So i change loadstep linear-static to non-linear quasi-static, because gap element have non-linear parameters(i defined NLPARM card).

Third, i wanted to solve my model in transient analysis. I created transient(direct) loadstep, the model is working great, but spring elements behaved linearly like they were in the linear-static loadstep.

After that, i wanted to add non-linear parameters to my transient analysis, but i couldn't find how to do it. I tried to Generic loadstep and select SPC, DLOAD, TSTEP and NLPARM in it. Then it gave me some error says:

 *** ERROR # 1461 *** in the input data:
Card 'NLPARM' is not allowed for this subcase type.

How can i define a nonlinear-transient analysis in radioss.By the way, I'm using Bulk Data.

Best regards
Mehmet

    Hi Mehmet,

have you tried with Geom- non linear (Impl dynamic) as the load case?
