Hi all,
I want to create variable thickness for the mesh, means each element has different properties, is there any way without manual creation of properties? Please help me out.

Sudhi
Hi,
for Nastran/ Radioss bulk you can set e.g. a nodal thickness. Card editor -> element -> hook at nodal_thickness -> fill out T1...T4

Hi Mario,
Thank you for reply, I am using NASTRAN as a solver. If i do nodal thickness option, i need to change each element. Is there anyway to do in one shot in hypermesh?
Many Thanks,
if you want do change a lot of elements, then use thickness by property.
If you want to change some elements, then overwrite the thickness by property trough the nodal thickness. The rest get the thickness by property.
You can change more then one element at the time at the card editor. Select your elements (e.g. try to make a set -> elements by set), enter your config and type and change the nodal thickness for all selected elements.
hi, there is a function in utility tab that can assign midsurface thickness to element. Just try it first
Hi Tinh,
Thank you for reply. I tried assigning the midsurface thickness option also, finally its says completed, but nothing is happening.

if you choose assign thikness to props on elems, create a sample prop named t0, if assign thickness to elem, activate nodal thickness in elem card image
Even if i activate nodal thickness in elem card image, it is creating 'thickness_contour_errors.txt' in mydocuments folder with an error followed by 'complete' action.
If variable thickness is happening in your side, can i have the snapshots of procedure.
