Hi there,

Is it possible to get the mass (or volume) of a solid in Hypermesh without meshing it ?

I haven 't Catia on my computer, and meshing complex solids only to check mass of a some components to have values for NSM is a little bit... noway.

Thanks

    Hello Pierre,

Mass calculation requires density information, which is owned by material ,and can only be pass to elements for mass computation by default.

But if you are OK, you can measure volume directly on CAD, from the Measure tool in the new UI, this does not require mesh.

Also ,ou could use Matrix Browser to query for solid volume and material density then multiply them in Matrix Browser. If you don't know Matrix Browser yet, here's an intro video:

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for your message !

I have also looked at volumes of solids using the measure tool (here with a minimal example), but it's not computed.

Is there measure another tool (on versions 2022.2 or 2024) ?

With Matrix, however, it works well ;)

I copy a screenshot if it can be usefull for someone else :
