Altair Embed - What's New in Embed 2023
Altair EmployeeThe Embed 2023 release features improvements to the automatic code generator including compliance with MISRA* 2012-C: 2012/AMD2 coding standards, additional micro support, support for the Robot Operating System (ROS), and a simplified installation wizard that bundles the many separate add-on’s that previously required a separate installation script.

In addition to automatic code generation and HIL support for over 1200 microcontrollers from Texas Instruments (TI) , STMicroelectronics (ST), Arduino, and Linux (including AMD64 and Raspberry Pi), support for the following has been added for the 2023 release:
Robot Operating System:
ROS is open-source software for robotics communication between distributed nodes via anonymous publish/subscribe functions. The ROS and ROS blocks reside on the Embed PC. Embed ROS blocks (Publisher and Subscriber) support the MSG Message Description files used to send structured data between nodes (different robots) on the ROS network. Both ROS 1 and ROS 2 are supported (UDP over WiFi and Winsocket over WiFi)
You can control multiple robots using different ROS Topic names (same IP address for the network).With Embed ROS you can experiment with open and closed loop control designs in real time with any robotic application (manufacturing systems, robots, drones, …) running ROS.
