HyperStudy Tips and Tricks: #5 - Leveraging Data Mining Images in Your Reports

Hello Design Explorers,
HyperStudy offers a variety of data mining tools that can help you gather insights from your data. For example, you can filter for "good candidates" on the Parallel Coordinate to help you identify key factors on the Pareto Plot and view all of the best solutions on the Pareto Front.
Ok great, but now what? How can I share this information with key stakeholders in my organization?
A common question I am asked is "How can I leverage these plots in my reports and share them with upper management?"
Here are some tips you can use when preparing the reports of your explorations:
Capture images of plots in your study using the Report to > Capture option.
In this use case, you would like to capture an image of the Pareto Plot ranking.
- From the Channel selector, click ... and select Report to > Capture from the context sensitive menu.
- Navigate to the ..\reports\doe_* directory to access the image (*.png) you just captured.
- You can now embed this image in your presentations and/or share it.
- Bound Tip: You can customize the plot in HyperView by simply double-clicking on the plot in HyperStudy.
Create HTML Report
You can create a sharable HTML report for each one of the studies you have performed.
- From the Report tab, click Create Report.
- An html report is automatically displayed on your screen. The report is also saved to the ..\reports\.. directory. All of the images that you had previously reported to capture are available within the *.htm report along with the summary tables (statistics, evaluation data, etc) and study definition (variables, goals, etc).
Package HTML Reports
If you have created reports from several approaches (DOE, Optimization,..), you can package them all together by selecting File > Export > Option Reports package from the menu bar. An index.htm file is created and you can then open the required report in a separate window.
