Monarch 2021.0 Now Available

Monarch is Altair’s self-service data preparation solution. It connects to multiple data sources including, structured and unstructured data, cloud-based data, and big data. 

Monarch 2021.0 is now available to all licensed users and we recommend that all customer organizations plan their upgrades now. Here’s a high-level summary of the changes in Monarch 2021.0: 

  • imagePDF Table Extractor Now Included in Monarch Data Prep Studio: This change makes PDF table parsing capabilities available to users of all Monarch product versions. In previous versions, they were available separately.






  • imageMonarch Classic Named Filters Now Available in Monarch Data Prep Studio: Data Prep Studio (DPS) now supports Monarch Classic Named Filters, including Formula Filters, Value-based Filters, and Compound filters. It can also import Filters from Monarch Classic Models. This new functionality appears in the DPS Analyze window.






  • imageCleansing Macros in Monarch Data Prep Studio: Cleansing macros are customized sets of general datatype-specific changes. Users can manage them in personal collections or share them with colleagues to help eliminate repetitive work. Cleansing macros support a wide variety of useful functions that enable users to more easily extract and clean data from structured and semi-structured sources.








  • imageSnowflake and ServiceNow Connectors: Monarch now incorporates native connectors for Snowflake databases and ServiceNow implementations to support an even greater range of use cases.

  • CSV and Excel Inputs in Monarch Data Prep Studio Tolerate Data Source Changes: Monarch allows more flexibility for complex cases where data stored in spreadsheet formats may be changing regularly.

  • Performance and Security Improvements: Monarch 2021.0 is faster and more secure than ever, due to a series of changes to the architecture that are largely invisible to users.
