The 2022 Release of the Altair Multi Body Simulation Solutions
For 2022, MotionView core has been upgraded for improved model read and edit that leads up to 10x faster model load and export solver deck creation compared to previous versions. Also, MotionView's transition into the new HyperWorks interface is accompanied by improved graphical interactive workflows. A new translation feature allows a MotionView model to be exported directly into Vortex Studio from CM-Labs (Altair Partner Product) for human-in-the-loop simulation. The MotionSolve and EDEM coupling allows simulations to be saved in user-defined intervals. In regard to ground vehicles, a new stability event for 2-wheeler has been added, tire pressure can now be changed mid-simulation for CDTire, a new empirical tire soft-soil model has been developed, and detailed scanned roads from Altair Partner’s IDIADA and XenomatiX can be included into a MotionSolve simulation.
On the Inspire Motion side, users can now model non-time dependent inputs for motors and actuators, such as torque vs. speed or force vs. angle, adding to the types of problems that can be solved. Proximity measures can be used to monitor minimum distances as well as interferences between parts. Initial intersections between contacting parts can be determined in advance of running a simulation, helping to improve results and accuracy. A solver enhancement called Active Contact Iteration has been added which helps users obtain more accurate results and experience shorter run times in certain contact models. Other enhancements and improvements in the areas of modeling couplers, creating contacts, plotting results and modeling with flexible bodies, all help in creating a better user experience with Inspire Motion.
