Solving antenna placement more efficiently with FEM / MLFMM
Altair Feko provides the market-leading Multi-Level Fast Multipole Method (MLFMM) for Engineers to rigorously solve electrically-large models. Antennas mounted on those models tend to have many different materials and electrically-small, physical details. The mesh elements within the antenna can potentially result in counter-productive MLFMM simulations unless the antenna is embedded in an airbox and solved with the Finite Element Method (FEM). The mesh elements on the boundary of the FEM region can then have similar dimensions when compared with the surrounding environment.
