The Altair® Accelerator™ 2021.2.0 release offers a number of usability and robustness advancements. Included are new tools for visualizing and acting on key data provided by the scheduler, such as the addition of Tasker (execution host) metrics in the Streaming Data Service and updates to the Accelerator dashboard introduced in 2021.1.0.

Included in Accelerator 2021.2.0:

  • SSL infrastructure updated to version 1.1.1j
  • New internal web server that provides a pathway to advanced use REST services for job submission and control
  • Accelerator Plus (WX) Direct Drive improvements
  • Enhanced web UI dashboard
  • Ability to fix incorrect job license requests for running jobs
  • Key metrics now available on per-Tasker basis (execution host) in Streaming Data Service

The Kafka-compliant Streaming Data Service (SDS) introduced in Accelerator 2021.1.0 allows Accelerator to be connected directly to a Kafka message broker to publish real-time scheduler metrics and enable remote monitoring of the Accelerator main dispatch loop. The 2021.2.0 release expands these capabilities by adding metrics for the Taskers. This data is available in a new Kafka topic and can be charted alongside the existing scheduler metrics.

The Accelerator UI dashboard added in 2021.1.0 is a web user interface that allows users and administrators to view queued and running jobs, status of execution hosts, and many other important cluster data points. The dashboard is responsive, auto-refreshing, and mobile-friendly, providing administrators useful information as they monitor the Accelerator function and cluster loading and ensuring teams can access information about their jobs from anywhere.
