Altair HyperWorks 2022 Usability Enhancements
A lot of neat enhancements hide behind the bigger features in HyperWorks, but several usability improvements have also been made. The presenters in this webinar discuss the enhancements that have been made in the HyperWorks 2022 release.
As soon as you launch HyperWorks, you will be greeted by a new interface which allows you to choose a client, interface or select a model to load. You can use the view cube to orient models and align them to local systems or the front of the screen.
The Move Tool received several enhancements. Your alignment selections when using the manipulator will now be remembered, even if the selected entities are changed. Furthermore, the manipulator can be aligned to the global or a local system with one mouse click.
A variety of usability enhancements are discussed in the next section of the presentation. While this sounds generic, don’t miss out. A lot of very helpful tricks are presented here!
The last part of the presentation can be summarized by the headline ‘Custom Access to Tools’. The Toolbelt – new in 2021.2 – can be used to run custom scripts by using ‘HyperWorks Extensions’. Accessible to anyone – even without programming experience - it is possible to add scripts to a ribbon and drag it from there into the toolbelt. The presentation touches on how to do it. Finally, the definition of a custom ribbon is discussed as well as the new feature to detach it from the main ribbon.
Lastly, a lot of effort went into the improvement of search algorithms for the online help.
