Knowledge Studio 2022.2 Now Available!

Knowledge Studio 2022.2 is now available to all licensed users. This is a major release with important and exciting new features introduced in Knowledge Studio, and we recommend that all customer organizations plan their upgrades now.

Knowledge Studio 2022.2 is a major version update that features integration using SAS language powered by Altair Analytics Workbench™ (formerly known as WPS Workbench) including SAS Language Code node, the use of WPD (WPS Workbench data format) and SAS System files as dataset nodes, and SAS Language Data Converter node. New features also include data import from Altair Monarch Data Prep Studio, support for time and timestamp values with milliseconds, imputation and scaling strategy options in the Novelty & Outlier Detector and Generalized Linear Model nodes.

Integration with SAS Language:

  • SAS Language Code node allows users to write and execute programs in the SAS language and embed them in Knowledge Studio workflows.
  • SAS System files and WPD files can be used as dataset nodes in Knowledge Studio workflows.
  • SAS Language Data Converter node converts data between three formats: Altair KDD datasets (native Knowledge Studio data format), SAS System files (*.sas7bdat), and WPD files.

Integration with a SAS language compiler and execution environment extends Knowledge Studio capabilities by empowering users to create and run SAS language programs directly within their Knowledge Studio workflows. Users can launch the powerful Integrated Development Environment (IDE) of Altair Analytics Workbench from within Knowledge Studio and utilize a rich set of code editing capabilities. Users need not worry about data format compatibility; the SAS Language Code node handles multiple dataset formats for input and output, and they can use the SAS language data converter node for explicit conversion.

Data Import, Preparation, and Profiling

This further extends integration between Knowledge Studio and Monarch, which are often used together to combine data preparation with predictive modeling tasks in an efficient workflow.

  • Knowledge Studio now supports time and timestamp values with millisecond granularity. The software displays milliseconds in data views, including data preview within import wizards, the data tab for datasets and decision tree nodes, and the data preview in variable transformations. The Make Time Series node and Time Series Decomposition node also support milliseconds.

Many Altair clients in manufacturing and other industries work with millisecond-level time series data. These new features make it possible for these clients to use Knowledge Studio more effectively for data exploration and modeling.

Predictive Models

  • The Novelty & Outlier Detector and Generalized Linear Model nodes now support imputation strategy and scaling strategy options.

These options make these Python-based nodes more flexible at the data preprocessing stage.
