Hi,

I want simulate a mixing tank with CFD-DEM, my question is regarding the motion of the impeller.

1- which method is recommended the MRF or sliding mesh ?

2- also, this motion should only be defined in fluent or it should be defined in EDEM too?

Thanks

    Hi Saeed,

You need to add the motion to both EDEM and to Fluent they geometry motion isn't linked so best to make sure both are setup the same.  I am not so familiar with limitations of the mesh motion methods in Fluent but expect sliding mesh is the best approach, we need to actually move the mesh to match the moving geometry in EDEM.

    Regards
