Results don't converge
Hello,
For a non-linear calculation with contacts and friction, it does not converge. (see picture warning). Despite a high refinement and a high number of passes, this does nothing.
Can you help me please?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mathis,
what are your contact types? If you are using a separating/closing contact, SimSolid requires a initial contact, something like a hertz contact to achieve convergence.
Please share your model. We can take a look.
Thanks,

Hi,
Attached the model.
I'm using separating closing contacts. But, yes some areas have no initial contact.
Moreover, I am assuming small deformations, perhaps we should go to large deformations ? It will no longer be possible to use non-linear contacts.
Thanks
Mathis

Hi Matt,
I am having the same issue, has this been resolved yet? I am keen to know why SimSolid 2022 results never converge with separating contacts doesn't matter how much you refine your connections and solver.

Hi,
The issue has not been resolved.
No initial contact on some areas + hypothesis of small deformations seem to be fatal for the convergence.
Good Luck
